Cal-Mag - a powerful deuce for your bones

If you’re one of those people who don’t like swallowing tablets, you’ve no doubt already faced the dilemma of which nutritional supplement to choose. If you wanted to be thorough and ensure you got every single one, you’d have to swallow several of them every day. That’s why various combinations have been developed to help you with these difficulties. One of them is CalMag, a dual combination of calcium and magnesium.

Who is this combination of minerals intended for? Older people begin to experience problems with bone thinning – osteoporosis. As we age, our bones lose an important building block: calcium. This is why bones break more easily and take longer to heal. Calcium is equally important for muscle growth and is found in the blood and other tissues.

We obtain calcium mainly from a healthy diet: from milk and dairy products, leafy vegetables, nuts, seeds, oat flakes and mineral water.

A calcium deficiency most commonly manifests as muscle cramps, a tingling sensation in the limbs, brittle nails or tooth decay. Psychologically, it mainly manifests as excessive tiredness, insomnia, nervousness and mood swings.

The second important mineral is magnesium. It is vital for the proper functioning of the nervous and muscular systems. It alleviates nervous tension, psychological stress, fatigue and headaches (including migraines). Magnesium is key to the proper functioning of the entire circulatory system and plays an important role in preventing heart attacks.

Magnesium can be obtained from bananas, almonds, nuts, dark leafy vegetables and wholemeal bread. A deficiency is often experienced by athletes, diabetics or people who consume excessive amounts of alcohol. It is a common part of the diet for long-distance runners and marathon runners.

Magnesium, when combined with valerian, acts as a natural remedy. This combination is ideal during convalescence and periods of increased physical exertion. It alleviates exhaustion. It should also be taken by people with digestive disorders such as anorexia or inflammatory bowel disease, or by those on long-term corticosteroid treatment. CalMag is also recommended if you are suffering from loss of appetite or nausea.

Magnesium levels in the body can be affected and reduced by certain medicines, such as antibiotics, painkillers, diuretics and contraceptive pills. Paradoxically, magnesium absorption can also be disrupted by excessively high doses, as the body loses its ability to utilise it effectively. It is therefore crucial to ensure the correct dosage and a balanced ratio of the individual nutrients. For the best possible absorption, it is best to provide the body with protein, which can be found in meat, fish and eggs. Vitamins B, C and D also significantly aid the body’s utilisation of magnesium.

It is precisely this dual combination that has been designed to provide your body with an optimal supply of essential minerals.

Innovative LIPO C (Liposomal Vitamin C)

Innovative LIPO C (Liposomal Vitamin C)

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) has long been recognised as capable of improving immune function and reducing the severity and duration of colds and flu. It is widely known that vitamin C is essential for optimal immune system function and overall health. This is confirmed by the fact that vitamin C is one of the most popular and widely used dietary supplements worldwide. It is precisely the low content of this vitamin in processed foods that requires its regular supplementation. In addition to strengthening immunity and shortening the duration of colds, it plays an important role in wound healing, improving brain function and supporting bone strength.

Omega 3, precious message of the sea

Omega 3, precious message of the sea

Do you long to wake up with ease in the morning, look fresher, not feel joint pain, have more energy, be able to focus, and feel better in your body? We could find the solution from fishermen who got up earlier than the sun each morning, went out to the sea, and greeted the new day with a smile. These were men who never knew the doctor, had sharp minds even in old age, their hands still firmly held the fishing nets and they lived functional longevity, often working into their 90s. The fishermen's treasure was exactly fish oil, which works similarly to a lubricant for our body: it helps the heart pump blood, keeps the mind fresh, and joints flexible, without it, the joints would be like an old creaking ship. The message that the sea gives us what we need was conveyed to future generations because some gifts of health are too precious to keep to oneself.

K2 as a GPS

K2 as a GPS

“Calcium on its own isn’t enough; it can even be harmful to your health.” What sort of conspiracy theory is this, you might think... After all, we need calcium for our bones, our teeth… but if we were to read the specialist literature, we’d find out… yes, calcium is important, but only if it knows where it’s supposed to be. Because when it wanders around the body unchecked, it can ‘park’ itself in the arteries, kidneys or joints. Calcium in the arteries contributes to their hardening (calcification), thereby increasing the risk of a heart attack, stroke or high blood pressure. This is where vitamin K2 comes to the rescue. It activates a protein called Matrix GLA protein, which ‘cleans’ the blood vessels by preventing calcium from being deposited in their walls. At the same time, it activates osteocalcin, which ensures that calcium goes where it is needed. This is precisely why vitamin K2 is essential – it acts as a GPS for calcium. With its special ability to regulate calcium transport – and not just any old way – it literally acts as a navigator for calcium, ensuring it doesn’t end up where it doesn’t belong (in the arteries), but is directed to where it’s needed: in the bones and teeth. The most effective form of vitamin K2 is MK-7 (menaquinone); although it sounds like a supporting character, it is a systems operator (the sort who doesn’t take the stage at meetings, but without whom the whole company would collapse).  Scientists aren’t exactly the sort to follow trends; they don’t always agree, but in the case of vitamin K2, also known as MK-7, they report that this vitamin has many benefits:
