From alchemilla to calendula: How herbs can restore your feminine vitality and well-being

There are so many jokes, books, serious literature and scientific studies on the subject of the female cycle that it is almost impossible to come up with anything new. And yet. Although this topic directly affects half the world’s population (and indirectly the other half as well), there is no foolproof solution that would miraculously resolve the problems associated with the female cycle. And although there are companies that claim to have invented a product ‘for those days’, every woman knows that something else helps her. Sometimes it’s chocolate, sometimes a tablet, but most often it’s simply some peace and quiet...

And a sense of inner peace is almost always linked to some kind of ritual involving a drink. Good coffee, good wine, good tea… Tea, in particular, may well be the best solution. It puts the least strain on the body, can help in the long term – not just for a few minutes – and, above all, has no side effects. Female balance is something scientists are constantly researching. Hormonal fluctuations, stress, negative moods. These are all consequences of a deficiency in certain substances that are lacking in a woman’s body at any given moment. However, this state of balance can be restored by supplementing essential substances found in plants, carefully cultivated on organic farms.

Our grandmothers had a tea for every occasion. For a tummy ache, an earache, a nasty cough – even when your boyfriend had left you. And they also had one that could restore a woman’s body to a state of calm and balance. Our Women’s Tea also contains a blend of these herbs. It is a blend of nine carefully selected herbs.

Common alchemilla is a traditional herb considered to be key to female hormonal balance. It is rich in phytohormones, flavonoids and tannins, which help to soothe the body and mind. It has long been used to support the menstrual cycle, during the menopause and to promote general vitality.

Agrimony helps to stop bleeding, acts as a liver detoxifier and stimulates the production of bile and digestive enzymes. Common marjoram – oregano. It relieves stomach cramps, soothes inflammation and is rich in antioxidants. It also helps with urinary tract infections. Dyer’s rocket restores balance to the body; it was already known to the ancient Egyptians. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

Mouse-ear hawkweed. Or, to put it a little more elegantly: common mouse-ear hawkweed. It is excellent for digestive comfort, is used to treat wounds and stops bleeding. It supports women’s reproductive health and relieves period pain. Alfalfa contains vitamins A, B, C, E and K, as well as minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus and potassium… It improves metabolism and aids digestion. Calendula is a key ingredient in all organic cosmetics, particularly those for children. It aids healing and accelerates epithelialisation in skin wounds and ulcers. It has regenerative effects.

Lemon balm strengthens the nervous system and supports mental health. It has a relaxing and sedative effect. It relieves headaches and toothaches, as well as PMS symptoms. It alleviates the symptoms of insomnia. The ninth herb in our blend for women’s balance is cornflower, which supports the immune system and digestion, relieves cramps and soothes stomach discomfort. It has anti-inflammatory effects.

These nine carefully selected plants are included in our tea, which will bring you relief throughout your day. Not only will it soothe and relax you, but its many active ingredients will replenish the levels depleted by daily stress or your period. It’s the answer to the question of whether tough days can be managed without a pill or a glass of alcohol. They can. You just need to put your trust in nature.

It has long been used to treat the menopause and period pain, as well as to strengthen the uterus during pregnancy. Do not use it during the first trimester; it is recommended for use only in the second half of pregnancy.

Get the most out of Aminomax

Get the most out of Aminomax

Every day, your body carries out hundreds of subtle tasks. It repairs muscles, regulates hormones, keeps your immune system on guard and treats your energy like a treasure. And amino acids are responsible for all of this. So if you need more energy, faster recovery, firmer muscles and a stronger immune system… you need the Amino“max” supplement, which is chosen not only by professional athletes but also by active people who want to get the most out of themselves. Aminomax contains 17 specially selected amino acids in the ideal ratio (9 essential and 8 non-essential), which together act as ‘specialists’: some build new muscle, others combat fatigue, whilst others boost the immune system or kick-start fat burning. But for us, it’s the result that matters, and this manifests as:

Magnesium - the most important mineral?

If you ask any athlete (especially endurance athletes) what nutritional supplement they always have with them for competitions, the most common answer will be "magnesium". Magnesium is definitely one of the most important minerals for our body. It is a so-called "deficiency" mineral because we excrete it from the body during excessive exertion, but also when we are not exercising! Aronia is an underrated wonder, and here’s everything you need to know about it

It contains more antioxidants than blueberries, frost won’t damage it, and your immune system will love it. The black chokeberry isn’t one of the sweetest fruits, but given its health benefits, it could well be called the queen of Slovak gardens. At first glance, the black chokeberry may seem unremarkable, but it is in fact one of the healthiest berries you can find here. It originally comes from North America, where its properties were used as a remedy for colds or to make pemmican, a food with an extremely long shelf life that was prepared mainly for the long winter months. If you haven’t heard of it yet, it’s time to put that right!

Vitamin A... not just for your eyesight

Vitamin A... not just for your eyesight

It acts in your body much like a ‘superhero’, fighting free radicals, improving your eyesight, boosting your immune system and looking after your skin as if it were a specialist from a prestigious beauty salon. It’s called beta-carotene, a natural wonder found in smoothies and salads alike. Beta-carotene is a pigment that gives vegetables such as carrots, pumpkins and sweet potatoes their characteristic orange (but also yellow or red) colour. It is the word ‘carota’ (the Latin name for carrot) that formed the basis of its name. And in fact, carrots are one of the vegetables with the highest beta-carotene content.

Why vitamin K2-MK7 is the missing piece for your heart and bones

Imagine you’re building a house. You’ve ordered the very best bricks and hired a whole team of workers, but there’s no site manager on the building site. The workers just pile the bricks wherever it suits them – right on the driveway. Instead of solid walls, you suddenly end up with something that bears no resemblance whatsoever to the house you had planned.
