Discover the power of tea for easier breathing

We take breathing for granted – until we’re suddenly struck by a cough, a blocked nose or a tickle in the throat. That’s when we realise just how precious it is to take a deep breath without any pain. When the cold air irritates your throat, it’s time for a warm herbal tea to bring some relief.

Dr. LUCULLUS’s range includes an organic tea – Respiratory Tract – a blend of 10 harmonious Tatra herbs that help clear the airways, soothe the throat and boost immunity. This warm herbal drink provides immediate relief – it moisturises the mucous membranes, loosens phlegm and soothes a sore throat. This tea combines tradition with the principles of phytotherapy; its effective plant compounds ease breathing and support overall recovery during a cold. What herbs does the blend contain?

Common marjoram, Origanum vulgare – this aromatic herb with warming properties soothes the airways and helps with congestion. It contains carvacrol and thymol, substances with antibacterial and spasmolytic effects that help loosen phlegm and make it easier to cough up.Great Mullein, Verbascum densiflorum – traditionally used for a sore throat, hoarseness and coughs. The mucilage in mullein forms a gentle film on the mucous membrane, protecting it from drying out and irritation, softening phlegm and clearing the airways. Saponins and verbascoside improve the ability to cough up phlegm.Wild thyme, Thymus serpyllum – a herb with natural antiseptic properties that helps with coughs, sore throats and blocked airways. The compounds thymol, carvacrol and flavonoids have a significant antimicrobial effect, which helps to clear the bronchi.Mallow, Malva sylvestris – a gentle, protective herb with a high mucilage content, soothes an irritated throat and alleviates a dry, irritating cough. It forms a protective film on the mucous membranes, thereby aiding their regeneration. St. John’s Wort, Hypericum perforatum – in addition to its well-known effects on mental wellbeing, it also helps with inflammation of the airways. Flavonoids, hypericin and hyperforin have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and support the body’s overall health. Cornflower, Centaurea cyanus – a delicate herb that reduces inflammation and soothes irritation of the mucous membranes. Thanks to its flavonoids (apigenin, quercetin), it aids detoxification and promotes clearer breathing. It gives the tea a fresh, delicately floral flavour. Peppermint, Mentha piperitaprovides immediate relief from blocked airways. The essential oils in peppermint have antiseptic properties, relieve tension in the bronchi and soothe headaches caused by colds (menthol, menthone).Dye chamomile, Anthemis tinctoria – a relative of chamomile with similar soothing properties. Thanks to apigenin, luteolin and borneol, it soothes a sore throat and supports the regeneration of the mucous membranes. It adds a subtle bittersweet flavour and harmony to the blend.Purple coneflower, Echinacea purpurea – one of the best-known herbs for boosting immunity. Clinical studies confirm that it shortens the duration of cold symptoms and reduces the risk of the infection returning.Calendula, Calendula officinalis – the herb of calm and regeneration – its triterpenoids and saponins have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects and promote the healing of mucous membranes. Carotenoids protect the body against oxidative stress and improve overall resistance during the cold season.

Choose the right preparation:

1 teaspoon (2–3 g) of the mixture to 250 ml of hot, but not boiling, water. Steep for 3–5 minutes, then strain. Drink the tea warm 2–3 times a day during the flu season and at the first signs of a cold, for a maximum of 4 weeks

Enjoy every breath.

The ‘Respiratory Tract’ tea boosts the immune system, eases breathing, keeps the airways clear and helps speed up recovery.

Treat yourself to a moment just for you; let the scent of the herbs wash over your senses, soothe you and allow you to breathe freely. Every sip of this tea brings you back to your natural breathing rhythm… breathe in a sense of relief.

Iron - the cure for youth

If you like the muscular Arnold Swarzenegger, you must have seen the documentary Pumping Iron about his complex transformation from a skinny teenager to an absolute physical Olymp. His musculature is still admirable to this day. And he was helped to do it by a simple iron. Of course - this is a joke, he mainly lifted on iron. But to make his muscles look like those of Hercules, he needed iron in a completely different form.

The biggest mistake when taking vitamin C: Do you make it every morning too?

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is an absolutely essential vitamin/nutritional supplement that virtually all of us take. It is water-soluble, but our bodies cannot produce it themselves, unlike goats, for example, which produce up to 14g a day all on their own. Almost all animals and plants can do this too, but humans are reliant on obtaining it from external sources.

How to treat a cold or the flu? Immunity and Vitality

How to treat a cold or the flu?

We probably all have a good supply of medicines at home in case we catch a cold, or even the flu. It’s the same every single year. The temperature drops, the weather turns damp and chilly, and the viral infections start to spread. But we’re prepared! Celaskon, various cough syrups, paracetamol… A box (or even a large box) of all sorts of medicines will sort it out, won’t it? And if not, then whilst we’re coughing, grumbling and lying in bed, we solemnly promise ourselves that we’ll finally start hardening ourselves to the cold. As soon as the illness has passed...

Do we need the 'sunshine' vitamin D3 only in winter?

Do we need the 'sunshine' vitamin D3 only in winter?

When you feel the sun's rays on your skin, know that your body is creating one of the most important vitamins - D3, which was discovered thanks to centuries of research. The discovery of vitamin D3 became one of the most significant medical achievements of the 20th century, saving millions of lives: It was the year 1650 and in the streets of London, doctors noticed that more and more children were suffering from a strange disease called rickets (their bones were weak and brittle, legs deformed, growth slowed). It wasn't until 1919 that Dr. Huldschinsky exposed children with rickets to ultraviolet light and their bones began to heal! Three years later, biochemist McCollum discovered a substance that prevented rickets and called it vitamin D. Gradually, the existence of the most important form of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) was discovered.
