Fascinating Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum)

It is not by chance that it is referred to in various countries as the "mushroom of immortality" and the "mushroom of eternal life". In Japan, "Reishi" means "spiritual power". In China, it is known as "Lingzhi", which means "divine mushroom". It is one of the most valuable mushrooms in traditional medicine, used to treat chronic diseases and recognised for over 4,000 years for its powerful effects (similar to women) documented in ancient books. It is also called the "mushroom of happiness" for its ability to relieve ailments such as arthritis, insomnia, pressure pain, persistent weakness, high blood pressure, heart problems, dizziness, mushroom poisoning and diseases...

Reishi is a large dark mushroom with a lacquered surface and woody structure. The Latin word "lucidum" refers to its shiny surface, as does the Slovak name lesklokôrovka obyčajná . It belongs to the polypore species and occurs naturally on the trunks of deciduous trees such as oak, maple, elm, willow, magnolia and acacia. Although it has hard and edible fruiting bodies (less suitable for culinary use), it is highly valued for its medicinal properties. There are six different types: blue, white, yellow, black, green (less common), but it is the most beneficial and most widely used (although all function as adaptogens and support immunity).

Fascinatingly, it helps you stay healthy and avoid illness . Reishi is processed using extraction methods that preserve its pharmacological properties and wide range of beneficial effects, including anti-cancer (effective against prostate, lung, breast and colon cancer), antidiabetic, antioxidant, aphrodisiac, and antimicrobial (against Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli) properties. With effects that protect the liver, maintain cholesterol, combat hyperpigmentation and arthritis, and have a calming effect. The extracts influence the effects in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.

Reishi alters the inflammatory pathway in white blood cells, thereby boosting immunity. It helps with diseases related to inflammation (pain, allergies, or asthma). It helps regulate blood sugar levels, increases HDL (good) cholesterol and reduces triglycerides, improves blood circulation, and significantlyreduces the risk of heart attack and cardiac ischaemia. Reishi owes its effects to its unique composition. It contains a number of active substances, such as polysaccharides, antioxidants, triterpenes, peptides, steroids, unsaturated fatty acids, proteins, amino acids and vitamins. In addition, it also provides important minerals such as magnesium, zinc and potassium.

The medicinal effects are most often attributed to polysaccharides and triterpenoids, which have a beneficial effect on intestinal flora and can help with conditions such as hyperglycaemia and obesity. It is also popular for its adaptogenic properties, which support the body's ability to cope with stress, thereby contributing to improved mood. As an adaptogen, it reduces fatigue, anxiety and depression after just a few weeks of use. The abundance of antioxidants helps protect cells from damage by free radicals, promoting a longer and healthier life. It was also revered by Chinese emperors, who considered it a symbol of longevity and vitality.

Reishi is known for helping to calm the mind and promote better sleep, which aids in the regeneration of the body. Reishi is one of the products with the highest content of organic germanium, which has significant beneficial effects, such as anti-ischaemic and anti-myeloid action, which prevents the deposition of specific proteins, thus helping to protect important organs from damage. Germanium also has anti-tumour effects. The effects of active substances are described in more detail in the books Mushrooms and Their Medicinal Effects, Mushrooms as Medicine, and Encyclopedia of Medicinal Mushrooms.

Dr. Lucullus - Reishi (500 mg) offers a modern superfood for overall health and well-being. The 4:1 extract has a much greater effect than the powder itself (which our body cannot process well). It is a source of prebiotics thanks to the number of bioactive compounds that have healing effects and are mainly present in the fruiting bodies (above-ground parts). Our formula offers safety with regard to the highest quality and precision, while preserving all the necessary ingredients that this unique mushroom contains... for your longer life and vitality.

Iodine is a trace element, with an interesting role in health, which we associate with the thyroid gland. It occurs naturally in the marine environment and one of the richest natural sources of iodine is kelp seaweed, also known as "Bladderwrack, Norwegian Laminaria," which has been used in traditional medicine and cuisine for centuries. Kelp can absorb large amounts of iodine directly from the ocean. The body needs iodine to produce thyroid hormones, without which much more would not work ... our metabolism would not function properly, we would have little energy, and our minds would be dull.

Histamine Control Immunity and Vitality

Histamine Control

Histamine is often perceived negatively, especially for its role in allergic reactions and intolerance. As with many things in life, black-and-white thinking is not suitable for this biogenic amine. As a neurotransmitter, it participates in many critical processes. In defending the body, for example, it supports the enlargement of blood vessels, making it easier for immune cells to access the site of inflammation. At the same time, it stimulates the production of gastric juices (essential for food processing), regulates the sleep cycle, controls appetite, and plays a role in learning, memory, and emotions. Histamine naturally occurs in the human body, and its balance is crucial for health. In the digestive system, it's broken down by the enzyme diamine oxidase. However, if histamine intake is greater than the body can break down, histamine intolerance develops. This imbalance can be caused by stress, poor lifestyle, medicines, or other factors. Excess histamine can lead to unpleasant symptoms, often resembling food allergies or digestive issues. It's essential to understand histamine as an important helper in our body.

Iron - the secret to your health and energy

Iron - the secret to your health and energy

Imagine that your body is a factory working at full capacity (to provide energy, growth, cell repair) and iron is the fuel that keeps it running. If iron reserves are depleted, you may experience weakness, heart palpitations or paler skin. Symptoms of iron deficiency include brittle nails, dry hair, shortness of breath, sleep problems, reduced concentration, cold extremities, increased frequency of infections, and anaemia (a lack of red blood cells caused by too little iron in the body), which manifests itself as extreme fatigue. With anaemia, the body is not supplied with enough oxygen and quickly becomes exhausted. Bruising can also be a sign of iron deficiency, as this mineral is important in the formation of haemoglobin, which supports the proper functioning of blood platelets.

B3 - example that food is medicine

Niacin was long considered a mere part of the diet until it was discovered that its deficiency causes skin, digestive, and mental problems known as pellagra. Doctor Goldberger proved that the cause of this disease is not an infection but a one-sided diet without vitamin B3. He conducted an experiment on himself and his colleagues, who consumed exclusively poor diets and began to show symptoms of pellagra. However, when they added nutrients rich in niacin to their diet, the symptoms disappeared. In 1937, niacin was isolated from the liver, confirming its importance and nutritional value.
