Next-generation vitamin C: How does VEG-C differ from standard supplements?

Most of us associate vitamin C with the classic sour tablet. In fact, it’s a vitamin that plays a vital role in the body, helping us to cope with stress, supporting our immune system, collagen production and iron absorption. And as it doesn’t last long in the body, we need to replenish it daily. During periods of stress or illness, our need for it can even increase several-fold. And honestly, do you know anyone who isn’t stressed these days?

What makes VEG-C different? Unlike supplements that contain only ascorbic acid, VEG-C combines vitamin C with natural bioflavonoids – plant compounds that enhance its effect. These are found in extracts that nature has provided us with precisely so that they can work together. Studies show that vitamin C from natural sources may have a higher antioxidant capacity, meaning it better protects cells from damage. It is not only completely natural, but also 100 % vegan, with a high dose of vitamin C, and free from artificial colourings, binding agents or animal-derived ingredients. The capsules are also plant-based (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), ensuring the purity and bioavailability of the vitamin. It provides powerful antioxidant protection; as vitamin C neutralises free radicals that damage cells due to stress, pollution or UV radiation. This means protection for neurons and blood vessels against oxidative stress and support for the health of the entire body. It also boosts immunity and shortens the duration of a cold – studies show that a daily intake of over 200 mg can shorten the duration and alleviate the symptoms of a cold, particularly in athletes, smokers or people exposed to the cold. So with VEGC, you’ll take your immunity to the next level. A unique Japanese RCT study showed that a daily supplement of 1,000 mg for 4 weeks significantly increased blood vitamin C levels (by 100 per cent) and optimised cognitive functions, particularly concentration and work motivation. “And you know what it’s like when work just flows.”

It also acts as a collagen booster, promoting perfect skin and regeneration; vitamin C is essential for the production of collagen, the primary protein in connective tissues. VEGC supports skin firmness, wound healing and vascular elasticity, making it ideal for beauty from the inside out. As a daily intake of vitamin C aids collagen synthesis in bones, cartilage and blood vessel walls, it simply promotes healthy bones and blood vessels. It also supports the absorption of non-haem iron, thereby reducing the risk of anaemia, which is particularly important for people who do not eat meat. VEGC contains a dose of 1,000 mg, which the body absorbs efficiently, thereby guaranteeing safety, optimal dosage and gentleness on the gastrointestinal tract – it is well tolerated by the digestive system. Studies confirm that vegans often consume higher amounts of vitamin C naturally, but supplementation is essential if their diet is low in fresh vegetables.

Who is VEGC Dr. Lucullus designed for?

For vegans and vegetarians, it provides essential nutrients without any animal-derived ingredients. For athletes and active people, it supports recovery, healing and the immune system. For smokers, those under stress and older people, it compensates for the increased demand for antioxidants. For anyone who wants healthy skin, strong bones or to get over a cold more quickly.

Lecithin and its effects: Why does our body need it so much?

Whilst browsing in a health food shop, my eye was caught by a supplement labelled ‘Lecithin’, with the text: ‘Soya lecithin – food for the brain, heart and liver’. I paused for a moment, because it reminded me: this is the secret ingredient my granny used to add to her breakfast, remarking with a smile, ‘It’s the secret to a good memory and a strong heart’ (she always used to say that). At the time, I just grinned and thought to myself. After all, grandmothers have secret recipes for everything from homemade ointments to teas that cure all ills (it’s a shame they don’t cure a broken heart). Even though it wasn’t yesterday, I know that my grandmother really did know the names of my classmates, even though I’ve forgotten where I’ve just put my keys. That’s exactly why I decided to find out whether it’s actually necessary, or just another one of those gadgets.

Do we need the 'sunshine' vitamin D3 only in winter? Immunity and Vitality

Do we need the 'sunshine' vitamin D3 only in winter?

When you feel the sun's rays on your skin, know that your body is creating one of the most important vitamins - D3, which was discovered thanks to centuries of research. The discovery of vitamin D3 became one of the most significant medical achievements of the 20th century, saving millions of lives: It was the year 1650 and in the streets of London, doctors noticed that more and more children were suffering from a strange disease called rickets (their bones were weak and brittle, legs deformed, growth slowed). It wasn't until 1919 that Dr. Huldschinsky exposed children with rickets to ultraviolet light and their bones began to heal! Three years later, biochemist McCollum discovered a substance that prevented rickets and called it vitamin D. Gradually, the existence of the most important form of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) was discovered.

How to treat a cold or the flu? Immunity and Vitality

How to treat a cold or the flu?

We probably all have a good supply of medicines at home in case we catch a cold, or even the flu. It’s the same every single year. The temperature drops, the weather turns damp and chilly, and the viral infections start to spread. But we’re prepared! Celaskon, various cough syrups, paracetamol… A box (or even a large box) of all sorts of medicines will sort it out, won’t it? And if not, then whilst we’re coughing, grumbling and lying in bed, we solemnly promise ourselves that we’ll finally start hardening ourselves to the cold. As soon as the illness has passed...

The world runs on a 24-hour cycle. A woman’s body doesn’t!

Imagine a world where a smartphone would be expected to run at 100 per cent capacity even when the battery is down to 12 per cent. That is exactly what modern society does to women – and, worse still, we often do it to ourselves.

B9 with a huge impact

B9 with a huge impact

If you were to analyse your diet today, you might find that, despite eating healthily, you’re not getting enough vitamin B9 – folic acid. Avocado toast may be all the rage, but unlike spinach, lentils or broccoli, it doesn’t contain much B9. Folic acid was first isolated from spinach, and although it is most commonly associated with pregnancy, its importance affects us all.

This remarkable plant (Lepidium mayenii) from the Peruvian Andes, where it is grown at extreme altitudes (4000 m a.s.l.). It is incredibly resilient and can survive and grow in conditions where most other plant species would not survive, such as low temperatures, strong winds, and intense UV radiation. Its ability to adapt to harsh environments enriches it with nutrients and substances that positively impact the human body, enhancing resistance to both physical and mental stress.
