Discover the energy of the mountains in every sip

When we need to recharge our batteries and long for peace, it’s time to slow down. Imagine the silence of a mountain morning, when the mist rises above the valley, the sun touches the mountain slopes, and the air is fresh and scented with wild herbs. And although these herbs grow in the purest areas and in mineral-rich soil, they must also adapt to the harsh conditions of the mountains. As a result, they are rich in antioxidants, essential oils, flavonoids and phenolic compounds, which help protect cells from oxidative stress.

And it is precisely by combining the effects of selected herbs that Dr. LUCULLUS’s Organic Mountain Tea was created – a harmonious blend of 11 medicinal plants that benefit the respiratory tract and the nervous system, aid digestion and boost immunity, bringing inner balance and natural vitality. Every sip of this tea is reminiscent of mountain air – fresh, pure and invigorating. The herbs are sourced from organic areas beneath Kriváň and are gently processed to preserve the maximum content of active ingredients and the authentic scent of mountain nature.

Yellow-green lady’s mantle, Alchemilla vulgaris, is a traditional herb found on the slopes of the Tatra Mountains; it has a gentle astringent effect, harmonises digestion and strengthens the body. Thanks to its flavonoids and tannins, it has antioxidant properties and helps maintain the body’s balance. Common sage, Salvia officinalis, is known as the herb of vitality and resilience. It contains essential oils with antimicrobial properties that support respiratory health and digestion. It also helps with fatigue and a weakened immune system, and has general restorative effects. Common marjoram, Origanum vulgare, is known for its warming aroma and ability to relieve tension. The compounds carvacrol and thymol possess powerful antimicrobial and antioxidant properties that protect the body during cold weather. Lemon balm, Melissa officinalis, is also known as the ‘herb of tranquillity’ – it helps relieve stress, supports digestion and improves sleep quality. Clinical studies confirm its anxiolytic effects and its ability to relieve tension without causing drowsiness. Mauritanian mallow, Malva mauritiana, brings relief to irritated mucous membranes and protects the throat from dryness. The mucilage in mallow forms a protective film that soothes a cough and a sore throat – the ideal companion for days in the mountains. St. John’s wort, Hypericum perforatum, supports mental balance, resilience to stress and improves overall mood. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, thereby contributing to the body’s defences. Cornflower, Centaurea cyanus – the herb of purity – has detoxifying and anti-inflammatory effects, and supports circulation and the body’s natural cleansing processes. It lends the blend a fresh floral aroma and a gently invigorating character. Great Mullein (Verbascum densiflorum) helps with throat irritation, soothes a cough and supports breathing. The mucilage in mullein softens phlegm and makes it easier to expel, which helps you breathe more comfortably. Calendula officinalis, the herb of light and regeneration. It has anti-inflammatory properties, promotes tissue healing and protects cells from oxidative stress. Its bright orange flowers are a symbol of vitality and renewal. Peppermint, Mentha piperita, clears the airways and aids digestion. It has a spasmolytic effect, thereby reducing tension in smooth muscle, and gives the tea an invigorating finish. Anthyllis (Anthyllis vulneraria) is a traditional mountain herb with antiseptic properties. In addition to the effect implied by its name – ‘wound-healer’ – it aids wound healing, whilst also helping with sore throats, cleansing the body by eliminating toxins and supporting the metabolism.

Choose the right preparation

1 teaspoon of the mixture (2–3 g) per 250 ml of hot, but not boiling, water. Leave to infuse for 3–5 minutes, then strain. It is recommended to drink this 3 times a day, ideally after physical exertion or on cold days

High-altitude herbs have been a symbol of resilience for centuries. Try Mountain Tea, which combines the scent of the Tatra meadows, the purity of the mountain air and the benefits of herbs that strengthen both body and mind. Every sip brings freshness, balance and the feeling of taking a breath right in the heart of the Tatras. Let this tea become your daily ritual of strength and tranquillity.

Lady's mantle is a perennial herb that originates from England but has spread throughout the world. Alchemists tried to make gold from various metals, but also to discover ordinary things. One of the secret ingredients in the production of gold was water captured in the leaves of this plant. As far as we know, it didn't help...

A superfood we often overlook. Have you heard of aronia?

Exhaustion and chronic fatigue have been frequently discussed topics in recent months. Some blame it on stress at work, others on an unhealthy lifestyle and poor-quality food, and others on vaccination... Whatever the truth may be, it is time to take matters into our own hands and deal with the situation. A weakened body is highly susceptible to various illnesses and health issues. That is why we need to give it a boost of optimism and, above all, vital energy.

Vitamin A... not just for your eyesight

Vitamin A... not just for your eyesight

It acts in your body much like a ‘superhero’, fighting free radicals, improving your eyesight, boosting your immune system and looking after your skin as if it were a specialist from a prestigious beauty salon. It’s called beta-carotene, a natural wonder found in smoothies and salads alike. Beta-carotene is a pigment that gives vegetables such as carrots, pumpkins and sweet potatoes their characteristic orange (but also yellow or red) colour. It is the word ‘carota’ (the Latin name for carrot) that formed the basis of its name. And in fact, carrots are one of the vegetables with the highest beta-carotene content.

Another vitamin in the B-complex group is vitamin B5 – pantothenic acid. It is both an acid and a vitamin. It plays an important role in metabolism (the conversion of substances) during the formation of coenzyme A. It is essential for the production of haemoglobin – the blood pigment that transports oxygen and CO₂ from the lungs to the organs and back.
