Ashwagandha - Withania Somnifera

“Ashwa” (horse) “gandha” (root smell), the name itself hints at the plant's ability to grant strength and vitality (the strength of the animal hidden in the root). Known as “Indian ginseng” (similar shape), and “winter cherry root” (fruits resemble cherries). From the small shrub with yellow flowers, the root is mainly used in traditional medicine. Due to its calming effects, it's significantly known as the Sleep or Dream Berry. The Latin name somnifera also reveals its property ; invoking sleep.

Improving sleep quality and managing insomnia with ashwagandha has been confirmed by studies. A healthy sleep is fundamental for well-being and has been recommended for centuries. The history of using the plant dates back not just centuries, but millennia, and it was employed as an aphrodisiac, narcotic, tonic, diuretic, and stimulant.

Its most famous use (besides sleep) is for reducing stress and anxiety and aiding cognitive disorders. A large number of research papers (hundreds annually) have been published regarding its effects on treatment, anxiety, fatigue, athletic performance, and sexual health.

Effective results are also achieved with pain, skin conditions, diabetes, and arthritis. How does it work? Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic plant that helps the body manage stress by restoring balance (supporting homeostasis). As an adaptogen, it allows better response to mental and physical stress, thereby restoring normal emotional and physical functions, including cortisol regulation.

Biologically active components include alkaloids, lactones, saponins, and withanolides. Withanolides in particular are considered steroid-like in their activities and are responsible for many effects - antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties. Alkaloids function as metabolic enhancers. Thanks to steroidal glycosides, this medicinal plant reduces stress and fortifies immunity.

Other active ingredients include somniferine, which relaxes muscles, and scopoletin, which alleviates cramps. Choline content ensures the health of the nervous system and muscles. Rutin (an antioxidant) neutralizes free radicals that damage the organism, responsible for vascular diseases, skin aging, cancer, and inflammation. Rutin provides protection against viruses and bacteria.

Modern research has confirmed that ashwagandha possesses the above-mentioned effects + antimicrobial, antidiabetic, anti-aging, and neuroprotective properties. If you find it hard to concentrate, you might want to try ashwagandha, the plant extract supports memory (dendrite growth). Or take advantage of its other benefits such as:

Reduction of symptoms of stress, inflammation, cholesterol and triglyceride levels, blood sugar, blood pressure, cortisol-related weight gain (reduces stress-induced weight gain).

Increase fertility in men, muscle mass, strength, endurance, and energy, athletic performance.

Helps with insomnia, improving sleep quality and ensures mental alertness upon waking.

Prevention of cancer cells.

It is important to note that the KSM-66 extract made from the root reduces cortisol (stress hormone), at an important daily dose of 500 mg, hence our dietary supplement includes the stated amount. KSM-66 is a patented full-spectrum root extract (not from leaves) with the highest concentration (of withanolides) representing a completely pure product, manufactured without harmful substances (alcohol, chemicals), also ensuring testing/control and safe distribution because the manufacturer owns its farms.

Ashwagandha Dr. Lucullus KSM-66 500 mg is popular for its regenerative properties, which strengthen the entire organism without undesirable side effects. By regular use, it increases your vitality and mental resilience.

Optimal use is in the evening about 30 minutes before sleeping 1 capsule daily, to ensure a constant effect. Take advantage of the support of vitality, body, and soul. Start living a full life without stress and full of energy.

Alchemists tried to make gold from various metals, but also to discover ordinary things. One of the secret ingredients in the production of gold was water captured in the leaves of this plant. As far as we know, it didn't help...

It plays a role in hundreds of enzymatic reactions, supports the immune system, and promotes the health of the skin, hair and bones, as well as helping to maintain hormonal balance. The citrate form of zinc is one of the most easily absorbed forms of this mineral and offers a host of health benefits. Is zinc really essential? Minerals: the heroes of our bodies

Minerals: the heroes of our bodies

Whilst vitamins often steal the limelight on food packaging and in adverts, there is another group of micronutrients without which our bodies would simply cease to function. These are minerals. These inorganic substances, derived from the earth and water, are literally the building blocks of our bodies. Not only do they form our bones and teeth, but they also act as catalysts that trigger thousands of enzymatic reactions, maintain our heart’s rhythm and ensure we have energy from the moment the alarm clock goes off in the morning until we fall asleep at night.

Vitamin B5

Vitamin B5

Another vitamin in the B-complex group is vitamin B5 – pantothenic acid. It is both an acid and a vitamin. It plays an important role in metabolism (the conversion of substances) during the formation of coenzyme A. It is essential for the production of haemoglobin – the blood pigment that transports oxygen and CO₂ from the lungs to the organs and back.

Zinc - the killer of fatigue

Zinc - the killer of fatigue

In addition to supplements, functioning and various supplements, our body needs to 100% and the so-called trace substances. The designation "trace" means that our body needs it only in small amounts. We need 10mg of zinc per day, which is 37 times smaller compared to magnesium (375mg). It would seem that we are talking about a complete uselessness. However, the opposite is true. Zinc affects over 200 biochemical reactions in our body!

Milk thistle – the liver’s guardian

Milk thistle – the liver’s guardian

In nature, there are plants with a story to tell; one of them is the (sharp) milk thistle (Silybum marianum) – an unassuming thistle that harbours the power to protect the liver. The liver is a unique organ – the only one capable of regenerating itself. Yet it has its limits. Every day, it battles toxins, cleanses the blood, breaks down harmful substances and ensures a sufficient supply of energy. In today’s world, the liver suffers more than ever – an unhealthy diet, alcohol, stress and excessive use of medication all take their toll. And because the liver doesn’t hurt and doesn’t make itself heard, we often fail to notice that it is crying out for help. Milk thistle is a helper that gives the liver a chance to cope with the demands we place on it every day. That’s why it’s more than just a dietary supplement; milk thistle is a reminder that we must look after our bodies, even when we don’t yet feel any problems. When the liver suffers, the whole body suffers (from digestion right through to the immune system).

High-quality mountain tea to combat stress and a weak immune system

Drinking high-quality tea is slowly becoming a new trend. Following the emergence of coffee culture here – where perhaps only a joker would now order a ‘Turkish coffee in a glass’ in a café – there has also been a shift away from the traditional habit of drinking beer. It has gradually been replaced by wine, and it is now common for people to distinguish between dozens of different flavours, rather than the traditional division into white and red. As people travel more and more and get to know the world, they are also increasingly discovering the phenomenon of tea drinking.

Omega 3, precious message of the sea

Omega 3, precious message of the sea

Do you long to wake up with ease in the morning, look fresher, not feel joint pain, have more energy, be able to focus, and feel better in your body? We could find the solution from fishermen who got up earlier than the sun each morning, went out to the sea, and greeted the new day with a smile. These were men who never knew the doctor, had sharp minds even in old age, their hands still firmly held the fishing nets and they lived functional longevity, often working into their 90s. The fishermen's treasure was exactly fish oil, which works similarly to a lubricant for our body: it helps the heart pump blood, keeps the mind fresh, and joints flexible, without it, the joints would be like an old creaking ship. The message that the sea gives us what we need was conveyed to future generations because some gifts of health are too precious to keep to oneself.
