Get histamine under control with Histamin Kontrol

Someone once called allergies the scourge of the 20th century. And they were right. These days, it’s rare to find anyone in your circle who doesn’t suffer from some form of allergy or intolerance, especially if they live in a city. Pollen forecasts have become a regular feature of weather reports, and warnings about gluten, milk and starch appear on food labels. Quite simply, we live in a world where the human body has not had time to adapt to all these stimuli, or where, through living in a sterile environment, it has lost the ability to resist external stimuli.

The good news is that scientists have been studying allergies for quite some time now and have specific solutions for specific problems (vaccinations, inhalation therapy, acupuncture, etc.). But is there a general approach that could protect you from all negative effects? The good news is that yes, there is – although… Because we are all different, different substances have different effects on us. It might help some people 100 per cent, others only half as much. But anyone who has experienced a severe allergic reaction will be grateful for any help.

Over time, scientists have identified substances capable of controlling allergic reactions in our bodies. Various combinations of these substances have led to the development of different preparations for controlling histamine. Histamine Kontrol contains almost all of them.

Moringa oleifera contains the three most potent antihistamines: polyphenols, flavonoids and antioxidants, combined with higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids. It has anti-inflammatory and healing properties, and provides the body with a range of substances that counteract the release of histamine. Furthermore, it is a source of many vitamins (A, E, K, B group) and minerals (potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, manganese...).

Quercetin – an extract from the flowers of the Japanese pagoda tree – is a highly effective bioflavonoid, a natural antihistamine and an antioxidant. It is used in herbal medicine to protect blood vessels and capillaries. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic effects. It reduces histamine production and levels of the inflammatory enzyme COX-2.

Curcumin – an extract from the roots of Curcuma longa – is one of the best-known anti-inflammatory foods. Daily consumption of turmeric reduces the levels of pro-inflammatory substances in the body. It is also used to relieve arthritis and is beneficial for muscle pain, joint inflammation and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Rosehip – the fruit of the rose. A plant known for many centuries; older people will remember the compulsory rosehip gathering. Rosehip tea has been one of the staple remedies in villages for centuries. It helps maintain optimal blood cholesterol levels, reduces inflammation, boosts the immune system and alleviates allergies.

Ginger is another traditional folk remedy that can significantly boost your health. Ginger extract is excellent for the immune system and is also a natural histamine blocker.

And finally, stinging nettles. Even in the most neglected countryside, you’ll find stinging nettles – and people have known about their healing properties for centuries. Extracts from them block histamine receptors and may also inhibit the production of inflammatory cells. ‘A nettle whipping’ helps with rheumatism – this piece of folk wisdom is familiar to all older generations.

A cocktail made from these ingredients is a highly effective histamine blocker and can genuinely help to alleviate various allergic and inflammatory reactions in the body. All you need to do is find a reputable online shop that specialises exclusively in dietary supplements.

The sun’s shining, but you’re lacking ‘D’? Why you shouldn’t put off taking vitamin D until summer

Summer is in full swing, the temperatures outside are like a scorching oven, and as you look at that little bottle of vitamin D that has faithfully seen you through the whole winter, you say: “Right then, mate, you’re on holiday until October!” It sounds perfectly logical, after all. Vitamin D is the ‘sunshine vitamin’; there’s plenty of sunshine outside, so surely our bodies must be producing it with the greatest of ease.

Is iodine a necessity? ... Iodine - Kelp

Iodine is a trace element, with an interesting role in health, which we associate with the thyroid gland. It occurs naturally in the marine environment and one of the richest natural sources of iodine is kelp seaweed, also known as "Bladderwrack, Norwegian Laminaria," which has been used in traditional medicine and cuisine for centuries. Kelp can absorb large amounts of iodine directly from the ocean. The body needs iodine to produce thyroid hormones, without which much more would not work ... our metabolism would not function properly, we would have little energy, and our minds would be dull.

The biggest mistake when taking vitamin C: Do you make it every morning too?

The biggest mistake when taking vitamin C: Do you make it every morning too?

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is an absolutely essential vitamin/nutritional supplement that virtually all of us take. It is water-soluble, but our bodies cannot produce it themselves, unlike goats, for example, which produce up to 14g a day all on their own. Almost all animals and plants can do this too, but humans are reliant on obtaining it from external sources.

Lecithin and its effects: Why does our body need it so much?

Lecithin and its effects: Why does our body need it so much?

Whilst browsing in a health food shop, my eye was caught by a supplement labelled ‘Lecithin’, with the text: ‘Soya lecithin – food for the brain, heart and liver’. I paused for a moment, because it reminded me: this is the secret ingredient my granny used to add to her breakfast, remarking with a smile, ‘It’s the secret to a good memory and a strong heart’ (she always used to say that). At the time, I just grinned and thought to myself. After all, grandmothers have secret recipes for everything from homemade ointments to teas that cure all ills (it’s a shame they don’t cure a broken heart). Even though it wasn’t yesterday, I know that my grandmother really did know the names of my classmates, even though I’ve forgotten where I’ve just put my keys. That’s exactly why I decided to find out whether it’s actually necessary, or just another one of those gadgets.
